This week on WWE RAW, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and the WWE legends that helped him defeat Randy Orton at WWE Clash of Champions opened the show. Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Christian and Big Show stood in the ring with McIntyre. “This is pretty cool,” the champion said. He described his relationship with each legend and called Michaels a mentor. McIntyre stated he defeated Orton last night, plain and simple.

Michaels said the legends wanted to even the odds against Orton. McIntyre said he welcomes anyone who wants to beat up Orton. Backstage, Orton said he hopes he’s enjoying this moment because the success will not last. “You have no idea what hell is, but you will,” said Orton. The Viper said he won’t stop until he wins the championship. Orton said he’ll be given a title match, and he doesn’t have to beg. The Viper said there’s a price for crossing him. Orton grabbed his suitcase and left the building. McIntyre said he felt like putting the title on the line in an open challenge to anyone who hasn’t faced him.

In the show’s main event, McIntyre came to the ring for his open challenge. Dolph Ziggler came to the stage and introduced McIntyre’s opponent, Robert Roode. The challenger has been off of WWE television for several months.

Roode took the fight to McIntyre and targeted his leg. McIntyre overpowered Roode and hit a reverse Alabama slam onto the apron. The champion threw Roode off the top rope, but Ziggler pulled Roode out of the ring. McIntyre attacked Ziggler, but Roode capitalized by dropping McIntyre with a chop block. He slammed McIntyre’s legs into the ring post. Roode then slammed the champion’s leg on the broadcast table.

McIntyre drilled Roode with a Glasgow Kiss and suplexed him twice. Roode floored McIntyre with a spinebuster for a two count. McIntyre dropped Roode with a Future Shock DDT for a near fall. Roode hit McIntyre with a Glorious DDT for another near fall. McIntyre reversed another Glorious DDT and hit a Claymore for the win.
