Wrestling star, Rob Van Dam does not appreciate the recent events that unfolded on AEW Dynamite.

In the latest installment of his podcast, “1 Of A Kind”, the acclaimed WWE Hall of Famer dissected a contentious spiked bat moment from the AEW World Title Street Fight between Jon Moxley and Cope.

The brawl included several unexpected interventions including the likes of Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli aiding Moxley, helping him reclaim the advantage after being suplexed by Cope onto a spike that remained lodged in his back.

Online, fans were quick to denounce Rob Van Dam, dubbing him as a hypocrite. Their argument was based on his previous associations with the notoriously violent ECW, as well as his history with Abyss in TNA Wrestling.

During his rivalry with Abyss, a 2×4 piece of wood embedded with nails, referred to as ‘Janice,’ was a common fixture.

In response to these allegations, Rob Van Dam took to Twitter and shared the following statement, “Some fans on here are another level of ignorant. 1-concussions are a part of my past, not my present or my future. No matter how much you don’t know. 2- I’ve always been against the abyss spot when he attacked me with Janice. I’ve consistently stated that in ECW, the trash match replaced true Wrestling as they were devoid of it. 3- Do you believe Moxley was given that spot by a writer, and he found it stupid? I don’t. I think you’re the naive ones, particularly those labeling me a hypocrite when I’ve always stood my ground. I never participated in Barbed wire matches. I never used blades in ECW. It’s disappointing when fans don’t understand the distinction.”
