On one of the latest episodes of his unique podcast titled “1 Of A Kind”, WWE royalty and Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam shared his fond memories and admiration for the late Sid “Vicious” Eudy, a figure who certainly left his mark in the wrestling world.
Sid tragically lost his fight with cancer on August 27, leaving us at the age of 63.
Some notable comments from Rob Van Dam’s podcast are shared below:
Reflecting on Sid Vicious, Van Dam said, “When he made his entry into ECW, I was still a newcomer, it was ’96 back then. Honestly, I was thrilled by his presence since he’s always been one of those monster heels that I highly appreciated. He possessed an intense demeanor and was a giant of a man. This made him look intimidating, in a Frankenstein-esque way, and you know, like, boom. I’ve always been an admirer.”
Discussing the reaction of the ECW locker room to Sid Vicious’s presence, Van Dam said, “Sabu and I really liked him, and I believe most in the ECW fraternity did. I distinctly remember the abundant respect he was showered with. Welcoming him into our midst was a joyous event, and one that made our company feel more extensive and validated, thereby enhancing our credibility. To put things into perspective, that’s what I was told I do for AEW wrestlers the last couple of times I was there. I am not headlining against Hulk Hogan as Sid once did, but it’s a different era, brother, different times.”
