During a recent episode of his own “1 Of A Kind” podcast, WWE legend Rob Van Dam expressed his views on the newly released “Mr. McMahon” docuseries on Netflix.
The docuseries, having six hour-long episodes, delves extensively into the multiple accusations of sexual misconduct waged against McMahon from multiple women across the years.
Highlights from the podcast include:
Speaking on the docuseries about Vince McMahon, Rob Van Dam said, “I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I think the creators did a great job at narrating the history of what we all grew up loving, WWF. Especially seeing my journey integrated into the larger timeline was a unique and captivating perspective. Overall, in my opinion, Vince did not come off looking terrible. The end maybe didn’t do him justice but throughout the series, the roller coaster of his life was depicted well, walking through even the deeper controversies. I admire Vince’s intelligence and the series reiterated this for me. However, I found it odd that he was so intent on talking about his sexual exploits. But, understanding now about an affair he was having at the time, it makes sense why it played a major role in his interview.”
Commenting on McMahon’s approach of handling past issues, Van Dam was quoted saying, “During the series, Vince vocalized how he tackles issues from his past which I quite respect. He said, ‘You can’t dwell on the past. You just have to keep moving forward.’ This makes me understand why he’s so candid about his past family issues and dilemmas.”
According to Van Dam, McMahon is known for burying the hatchet and bringing people back on board in WWE, even if they have cost him millions in the past. His mantra is if you can’t change what happened, simply let it go, a perspective Van Dam found commendable.
