Road Dogg – ‘I Want Shelton Benjamin To Join Alpha Academy’

Could Shelton Benjamin become the fourth member of Alpha Academy? ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James would love to see it.

Like Otis and Chad Gable, Benjamin has a background in amateur wrestling and is a two-time South Carolina state high school heavyweight wrestling champion.

During his “Oh You Didn’t Know” podcast, James shared his support for Benjamin possibly being added to the faction and praised the former Tag Champion. He said,

“Shelton Benjamin to me is an awesome addition to any team. He is one of those unsung heroes in this industry.”

James reminded listeners that Benjamin teamed with Gable years ago after Gable’s then tag-team partner Jason Jordan was drafted to RAW. He said,

“That was like the perfect match that you watch from a camera angle, it’s just beauty in motion. Shelton is 50 percent of that. Shawn is that good and everybody knew it and everybody knows it, but Shelton is 50 percent of that no matter what you say, and so that is Shelton Benjamin in a nutshell.”

Since returning to WWE, Benjamin has held the 24/7 Championship and the RAW Tag Team Championships (with Cedric Alexander.)
