Ring of Honor Paid All Talent For Cancelled Shows, Flew International Talent Home

Wrestling companies are dealing with the current global pandemic in different ways. AEW and Impact are taping batches of episodes in front of no crowds, while WWE is barrelling forward with live broadcasts. For Ring of Honor, the only sensible thing to do was shut down. They joined MLW earlier this week in declaring that they wouldn’t run shows in Florida even after its governor gave them the all-clear. They’ve canceled their schedule until at least June, and they’ve also worked to keep their talents secure during this trying time.
As seen in some scattered Twitter posts this week and confirmed by PWInsider, Ring of Honor is paying all their talent what they’re owed for canceled shows and appearances. This goes beyond just their in-house wrestlers and extends to ring crew, referees, and talent they were bringing in for events like the planned Women’s World Title tournament.
In some cases, international talent was flying into the United States as cancellations became a reality, and ROH ensured that they were on a flight right back home with their own funds. While some talent came in to film non-wrestling segments for the now airing Best-Of broadcasts, others never left the airport. Considering the week that the wrestling industry has had, it’s good to see an organization sticking together and ensuring that their roster remains fully intact for future events.
