Ricochet isn’t a fan of the criticism that ‘this isn’t wrestling‘ as he believes that wrestling can be whatever you want.
For years, fans have criticized certain aspects of wrestling, ranging from comedy grapplers to spot-heavy bouts, saying that it ‘isn’t wrestling.‘
Speaking to “Insight” this week, Ricochet explained why he disagrees with the idea that a particular style of wrestling shouldn’t be considered wrestling. He explained,
“Wrestling can be anything. Wrestling is comedy. Wrestling is hardcore. Wrestling is strong style. Wrestling is high-flying. Wrestling is a lot of different aspects and some people, … rather than just saying, ‘I don’t like this style,’ they’ll just say, ‘That’s not wrestling!’ And it’s like, ‘Well, you’re an idiot because wrestling can be literally anything you want it to be.’”
During the interview, Ricochet also spoke about his spot with Logan Paul during this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match and his time competing in Lucha Underground.
