On a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, AEW’s Ricochet shared his views about the significance of victories and titles in the world of wrestling.

The prominent wrestling star highlighted the importance of achieving victories and acquiring titles, as it can directly impact the perception fans hold for the wrestler. According to him, a champion’s image is created through these achievements that essentially become their reality in the eyes of the viewers.

Ricochet was quoted saying, “It’s a question of legacy. It’s amusing that people often remark, ‘championships don’t matter,’ in wrestling, but the truth is, they do. Perception is reality. If you’re seen as a champion, that becomes your reality. If you’re always spotted on the losing side, that’s also a reality.”

Further, Ricochet added his personal experience and said, “My father once called me up before a match, telling me that he and his friends were thrilled to watch me perform, even though they knew I would lose. Perception, indeed, is reality. Therefore, one surely has their mind on championship gold.”

Ricochet, who became part of the AEW family in August, is currently in a rivalry with the Don Callis Family.
