Ricky Starks – ‘Sting Holds A Place In My Heart For How We Worked’

All Elite Wrestling’s Ricky Starks expressed admiration for Sting, who bowed out from wrestling earlier in 2024 during AEW Revolution’s pay-per-view event.

Prior to his definitive retirement, Sting partnered with Darby Allin to successfully defeat Starks alongside Big Bill, thus winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Starks reminisced about his experiences with the WWE Hall of Famer on a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, discussing how Sting consistently demonstrated professionalism at AEW.

“My childhood was not steeped in Sting fandom, nor was I an avid WCW watcher. My loyalty was to the Undertaker. When Sting came into AEW and I had the chance to meet him, I found him to be an incredibly calm and amiable person.”

“Sting has definitely carved out a special place in my heart. He was one of those rare people who were always approachable, always ready to listen, always understanding.”

Although Sting’s wrestling days are over, he has signed what can best be compared to a WWE Legends agreement with AEW, and he made an appearance at All In: London 2024.

Following an eventful March, Starks has yet to make his return to AEW. An alleged comment made by Effy about Tony Khan’s father led to Starks being removed from GCW events by AEW.
