In recent Pro Wrestling news, Davey Boy Smith Jr., former WWE superstar, has revealed the nearing expiration of his contract with AJPW in the upcoming January.
He disclosed this information during a recent episode of “The Big Show with Rusic & Rose” podcast, where he mentioned that his tenure at All Japan Pro Wrestling will soon be coming to a close. He said,
“I’ll most likely be back [in Calgary] in January when my contract concludes and I need to renew my visa and deal with my residence card matters for Japan. [Calgary] is always home.”
Davey’s revelation was followed by an interesting interview by Joe Roderick on Claibs Online. Here, Ricky Starks, a popular AEW wrestler, declared that he continues to be under contract with AEW. His affirmation came after a recent appearance at Glory Pro Wrestling the previous month.
Check below for exciting highlights from the interview:
Regarding his current contract with AEW: “Indeed, I can confirm that.”
Talking about his Glory Pro appearance: “Well, let’s just say, I can’t stand being confined at home for a long time. So when I came across an opportunity to challenge Kody Lane for the title, I grabbed it. Plus, having lived in St. Louis – Melville to be exact – just amplified my excitement to return. Moreover, Kody and I have known each other for a bit; he used to train here in Texas. So, I thought, ‘Why not, why not return and test my mettle against someone I know well.’”
