During the March 30th episode of AEW Collision, Ricky Starks was seen for the last time. It was during this event that he had a close call with an injury, which drastically altered the intended course of his match. Starks has since declared himself fit and showed some confusion about his absence from AEW programming.
At a virtual signing for Highspots, Starks reiterated that he isn’t injured and emphasized that the decision to return to wrestling isn’t up to him. In response to speculation that he may wrestle elsewhere, Starks said,
“Honestly, that’s so sweet that people would say that to me. I think it’s a compliment. A great thing to hear people care about me that much… But, yeah, I wish I had more… a definitive answer but sometimes, darkness is your only friend, when you’re definitely trying to find the light.“
In the meantime, Will Ospreay responded to feedback on his selling during matches during a recent appearance on “The Masked Man Show”. Critics have taken issue with Ospreay’s tendency to quickly respond with his own attack after taking a heavy hit from an opponent.
In response, Ospreay said, “I just feel there are different aspects in what people say with selling… I say to all those people who say ‘you don’t know how to sell,’ you don’t know the backstory… To those people, I get where they’re coming from, I understand, but if you pause your opinion for a second and take a wide look at the arena, they’re standing up. You can’t tell Picasso how to paint.”
