WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair got in the professional wrestling market in 1972, making 2022 his 50th year in the sport, paradoxically the exact same year that he had his last match.
This previous July, Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo versus Jay Lethal & & Jeff Jarrett to win his “last” bout.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter released their fan-voted Wrestling Observer Awards. Amongst the awards was the Worst Match. The Vince McMahon-Pat McAfee match at WrestleMania 38 won the award. Style’s last match was the runner-up.
On his To Be The Man podcast, Flair discussed almost getting the award.
” I’ll take that due to the fact that it was the sh * ts. No, no, however here’s the offer. Since I made an error in not hydrating, it was the sh * ts. Let them have it once again. No, I suggest, I’m severe. I consider all of it the time. Let me have the match once again. Due to the fact that the something I never ever considered was to keep myself hydrated, which I discovered my medical professional informed me recently, I simply went to get my heart checked and all that.”
” He stated the only thing incorrect with you, he stated, he’s my brand-new physician here in Tampa. He’s reading my medical records. He goes you consume 9 to 12 beers a day, much like the psychiatrist right from years earlier. The concept that you do that every day is that I’m taking a look at your bloodwork, all I can state is if you’re gon na keep drinking like you got to remain a bit more hydrated. That’s the only thing so simply consume more water. He stated I presume you will not stop drinking? I stated you got that sh * t? [He stated] Simply consume more water.”
