In a recent exchange with Busted Open Radio, Ric Flair, the esteemed professional wrestler, shared his insights about a plethora of topics.
In the course of this dialogue, Flair notably known as “The Nature Boy,” gave an in-depth explanation as to why he was never quite a fan of defeating his opponents effortlessly or ‘squashing’ them. He expressed,
“I’ve never felt that squashing somebody — I don’t know what you can accomplish in two minutes,” Flair initiated his thoughts. “A competitor like Bruiser Brody, with his intimidating build, strength, and in-your-face persona, it would make sense for someone like him to squash opponents … However, the thought of a wrestler with my physique overpowering someone in mere two minutes didn’t add up. If I had the physique of a giant, say 6’5″ and weighed around 300 [pounds], it wouldn’t have been a problem. But, I was essentially an average-sized guy.”
