Ric Flair Completely Ignored Approved Script At WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony
– ADVERTISMENT –

At this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, Ric Flair inducted The Great Muta, (aka Keiji Muto) who recently retired, into the Class of 2023. Flair’s induction speech was widely criticized for being incoherent and off-topic, and Dave Meltzer, writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, now has a reason as to why. He wrote,

“For the Hall of Fame, there was a teleprompter where the planned speeches were written and pretty much everyone except Ric Flair read them so what was said was planned out and approved. Flair called Great Muta the best Japanese wrestler ever (he said the same when he inducted Tatsumi Fujinami) and talked about showing him around Atlanta when he first came to WCW…

“The thing is that Flair didn’t read the teleprompter at all and just gave a speech having nothing to do with the script until the very end when he got back on script. The stuff listing Riki Choshu and Tenryu and Fujinami was actually the stuff that was in his script.”

Ric Flair’s induction speech was reportedly not received well backstage.

On the latest episode of his “To Be The Man” podcast, The Nature Boy also shared his belief that his daughter Charlotte should have main evented WrestleMania 39 (Night One) alongside Rhea Ripley instead of The Usos vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships.
