Wrestling superstar Rhea Ripley recently guested on “Jazzy’s World” podcast where she expressed her annoyance with loud gym-goers, particularly those who grunt excessively during their workouts.
Here are the key takeaways from her podcast interview:
Ripley’s pet peeve at the gym: “Being an ardent gym-goer and fitness enthusiast, I have a problem with people at the gym who grunt loudly to catch attention because their lifts are not even heavy enough to warrant such noise”.
Ripley on loud people at the gym: “I cannot understand why some people make so much noise at the gym. I could easily lift the same weight they’re struggling with, so I know it’s not about the weight. It feels more like they’re trying to draw attention to themselves than actually work out.”
Another wrestling star, Grayson Waller, shared his experiences in WWE and his rebellious nature, especially towards authority, during his recent feature on the “Insight” podcast.
Highlights from Waller’s podcast interview include:
Waller’s rebelliousness and lack of respect for Authority: “With me, there’s this inherent attraction towards and fascination with defiance against power. I enjoy taking light of serious moments. In my opinion, people in today’s world are overly respectful, it almost makes me nauseous. Yes, traditions and the legends who have contributed immensely to the game deserve respect but this is my era. I am not one to constantly express gratitude, especially on TV.”
Waller’s experience of wrestling Edge at Madison Square Garden: “The interesting aspect was that I had just recovered from a leg injury and not had much time for practice. The news of me wrestling with him was sprung on me just the night before. It was nerve-wracking because I wasn’t sure if I could wrestle properly after the injury. Eventually, the match went well, but I had to push through some pain. I’m relieved that the ordeal ended positively.”
Waller on getting compliments from Edge: “Edge’s compliment was unexpected pleasure. I don’t aspire to win the hearts of the legends by keeping my head down. I treat them on equal terms. Looking back, receiving his compliment was a pretty cool moment.”
Waller’s dream co-host for The Waller Effect: “If asked two years ago when I first conceptualized The Grayson Waller Effect, I’d love to have John Cena or Shawn Michaels. But currently, I’ve my sights set on Trish Stratus. Her dexterity as performer has always captivated me. I continue to pitch her name until it becomes reality. I’ve also provide platform to several old timers who’ve begun to take active interest in backstage activities of late.”
Waller on his dynamic with Austin Theory: “Our bonding was almost spontaneous. We both have similar ambitions and work ethic. Although not initially planned for long term, we clicked so well that it kind of stuck.”
Waller’s desire to compete with CM Punk: “I strongly believe CM Punk and I could create some stunning WWE moments. We have had a few minor interactions till now, but his confident demeanor, the way he speaks his mind without worrying about what people think, that inherently matches my worldview too. And much like how he used to take on others, I’d like to give him a taste of his own medicine.”
