At an exciting WWE live event recently in Amsterdam, Rhea Ripley emerged victorious over Liv Morgan in a gritty street fight that signaled an end to their former friendship and escalated their rivalry.
Post-match, Ripley took matters into her own hands by animate a slap on her own backside using a kendo stick, an action that went onto stir a controversy on social media. Zoey Stark, another WWE wrestler, was seen sharing her displeasure on the incident on Twitter.
She expressed, “Example #1 what’s wrong with women in today’s society”– Zoey Stark (@ZoeyStarkWWE) March 30, 2025.
Stark’s reaction spurred numerous online debates with many users drawing parallels between her and Ivory of the “Right to Censor”. In response to Stark’s criticism, Ripley, remaining unfazed, offered some candid advice.
“Kiss my juicy ass Zoey.”– RheaRipleyWWE (@RheaRipleyWWE) March 30, 2025.
This isn’t the inaugural instance of Ripley’s actions during a live event causing a media uproar. Previously, in 2024, her use of the “stinkface” move was met with severe criticism from her fellow wrestler, Becky Lynch.
According to Lynch, the suggestive nature of the move was a step back from the achievements made in women’s wrestling. She also emphasized the negative impact it could have on younger audience members, particularly her daughter, who might get an erroneous impression of what is expected of women in professional wrestling.
