Rey Mysterio Says WCW Made The Wrong Call By Unmasking Him

WCW lost out on a fortune in potential merchandise sales by unmasking Rey Mysterio, according to the WWE Hall of Famer.

After losing a Hair Vs. Mask match at SuperBrawl IX in February 1999, Mysterio was forced to unmask and would spend the final two years in WCW with his face on display.

Speaking on the “Impaulsive” podcast, Mysterio explained that he would have been much more marketable in WCW with the possibility of replica masks being sold. He said,
