Popular wrestling duo, the Lucha Brothers, consisting of Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix, have indicated they wish to join WWE simultaneously. This intention means Rey Fenix will prolong his tenure with AEW.

There has been ongoing interest from WWE in the Lucha Brothers. As we’ve shared previously on eWn, Penta acknowledged having dialogue with WWE a few months ago.

Nonetheless, Fenix and Penta are both currently contractually obligated to AEW. Last week’s conjecture suggested that Fenix may have to extend his contract due to missing some events, which seems to be the unfolding scenario.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has conveyed that Penta will make the switch to WWE once his contract with AEW concludes in the coming two months.

The report affirmed, “Concerning Fenix, it appears that AEW is currently adding injury time to his contract that is almost, but not quite, a year. Khan proposed substantial offers for them to stick around, but they wouldn’t commit to a new contract.”

Fenix hasn’t made any public statement concerning his contract status as yet.
