In recent months, PENTA has been lighting up the ring on Monday Night RAW, meanwhile, his Lucha Bros partner, Rey Fenix, made his much-awaited WWE debut on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
In an unexpected move, his debut opponent was a member of the NXT roster and one-half of the tag team champions (Fraxiom), Nathan Frazer, who was also marking his debut match on SmackDown. Frazer had only previously contendership against Bronson Reed in a dark match on December 15, 2023, which he unfortunately lost.
The match took a turn when Frazer found himself caught up in an outside dive, but other than that small hurdle, both high-flyers demonstrated their prowess in the ring. Ultimately however, the spotlight was seized by Fenix.
Claiming his first victory in World Wrestling Entertainment with a pinfall after executing a Mexican Muscle Buster, Fenix left the fans present at the Allstate Arena in awe of his performance.
Even though PENTA and Fenix are currently on different brands in the main roster, and Frazer is with Axiom in NXT, the match could steer the wrestling fans to hope for a future confrontation between The Lucha Bros and Fraxiom.
Post-match, Rey Fenix was interviewed by Byron Saxton. Participating in a heartfelt conversation, Fenix expressed his deep-rooted history with Chicago and declared that his debut in WWE marked his rebirth, a moment of exhilaration, which he awaited his entire life.
Meanwhile, Legado del Fantasma, who were observing the match backstage, witnessed the immense passion exhibited by Fenix which prompted Santos Escobar to share his desires with Los Garza. Contrarily, Berto belittled Fenix’s ability, leading Escobar to discuss with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about giving Berto a chance to validate his claim.
