New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) kicked off its 2024 ‘Road to Sakura Genesis’ tour with an action-packed night one event at the Takaoka Techno Dome in Takaoka, Toyama, Japan. The show featured several exciting matches that left fans on the edge of their seats.
The opening match saw Oleg Boltin and Toru Yano take on the team of Katsuya Murashima and Shoma Kato. Boltin and Yano showcased their teamwork and emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle.
Next up, the Intergalactic Jet Setters, Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA, faced off against El Desperado and Tiger Mask. The high-flying duo of Knight and KUSHIDA impressed the crowd with their aerial maneuvers and secured a well-deserved win.
In a clash between two formidable teams, United Empire’s Callum Newman and Francesco Akira locked horns with BULLET CLUB War Dogs’ Clark Connors and Gedo. The United Empire proved their dominance as they overcame their opponents in a thrilling encounter.
The fourth match of the night featured a star-studded eight-man tag team match. CHAOS members Tomohiro Ishii and YOH joined forces with Great Bash Heel’s Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma, along with Shota Umino, to take on the faction known as Just 5 Guys. The match was filled with intense back-and-forth action, but ultimately, CHAOS and Great Bash Heel emerged victorious.
Hirooki Goto and Ryusuke Taguchi faced off against BULLET CLUB’s Chase Owens and Taiji Ishimori in a tag team showdown. Both teams displayed their skills and put on an entertaining match, but it was BULLET CLUB who came out on top.
The penultimate match of the night featured United Empire’s Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb taking on Guerrillas Of Destiny’s Jado and Tanga Loa. The clash between these two powerful teams was a highlight of the event, with United Empire securing the win in a hard-fought battle.
The main event of the evening witnessed a ten-man tag team match between Los Ingobernables de Japon and House Of Torture. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and Yota Tsuji represented Los Ingobernables de Japon, while EVIL, Ren Narita, SHO, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Yujiro Takahashi fought for House Of Torture. The match was filled with chaos and high-octane action, but it was Los Ingobernables de Japon who emerged victorious, much to the delight of the crowd.
