In recent reports by eWn, it was disclosed that AEW’s disciplinary committee took disciplinary actions against Britt Baker due to a backstage altercation involving MJF and his significant other, Alicia Atout. The series of events began during the July 17th episode of AEW Dynamite where Baker allegedly passed comments about MJF that Atout happened to overhear. This sparked multiple disagreements involving Baker, MJF, and Atout.
It was reputed that Baker used harsh language towards Atout and insisted on her departure from the women’s dressing room. The circumstance took an intense turn when MJF, out of aggravation, struck a wall backstage prior to his match with Will Ospreay. The reigning AEW American Champion even intervened directly in the women’s dressing room to address the matter. Ospreay also confronted Baker about the issue later.
Despite the unfolding events, Baker remained on the show while a Human Resources probe was being conducted. The result of the investigation led to Baker’s suspension, but no actions were taken against MJF.
The decision to suspend Baker, as reported by Fightful Select, has sparked internal debates about potential favoritism, with some feeling one party was favored unfairly. This decision has ignited conversations amongst the AEW roster, with several expressing their opinion that the matter could have been carried out with greater impartiality.
However, many individuals associated with AEW are keen to move forward, but a few have voiced their disappointment that such conflicts persistently germinate. Regarding Tony Khan, the President of AEW’s level of involvement in the investigation, it remains ambiguously undefined. Most associates demonstrated empathy towards Baker concerning this conflict.
