As reported earlier, NXT and 205 Live are both going to begin filming from the WWE Performance Center for the foreseeable future. The PC has been re-designed and is now being referred to as ‘Capitol Wrestling Center‘. NXT had been filming from Full Sail University and 205 Live had been filming inside of the WWE ThunderDome.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE briefly considered moving NXT to the ThunderDome but ultimately decided against it. He also reports that 205 Live is now being paired with NXT instead of SmackDown because WWE wants to keep NXT and 205 Live separate and away from the main roster wrestlers to minimize any potential COVID-19 outbreak.
Regarding the move away from Full Sail University, it is being reported that the move is solely COVID-19 related. The school now has students on campus again and WWE does not want any of their staff having an increased chance of being exposed to the virus. WWE was still running a closed set for NXT and this didn’t serve any benefit for Full Sail due to the existing relationship which is for students to ‘shadow’ the NXT crew.
