WrestleMania is coming to Tampa next month and the target goal for the number of fans keeps inching upwards. The event will mark WWE’s first event with public ticket sales in over a year.

WWE is trying to go all out with WrestleMania 37, hoping to break the record for the largest gathering for a sports or entertainment event since COVID-19 started last year. Dave Meltzer first broke the news and Jon Alba has since confirmed the news that WWE is looking to have up to 45,000 fans in attendance for each night of WrestleMania 37. We covered this story earlier this week here.

The stadium can hold over 65,000 people. The Super Bowl was held at the same venue, Raymond James Stadium, last month and only hosted 25,000 fans. NASCAR held an event at Bristol Motor Speedway last year in which they allowed in around 35,000 fans. This is believed to be the most attended sporting event since the pandemic started.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lifted attendance restrictions at sporting events in FL and allowed all sports stadiums to run at full capacity. As of now, nobody has taken advantage of this order.

I have reached out to the Tampa Bay Sports Authority, which manages Raymond James Stadium, but have yet to hear back. Tickets are on-sale 3/16, though it hasn’t publicly been said how many will be available. #WWE
