Velveteen Dream has been released by WWE.

According to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider and later confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Velveteen Dream (Patrick Clark) has been released by WWE.

A former NXT North American Champion, Dream was, at one point, a pillar of the NXT roster. In the spring of 2020, he was accused of inappropriate contact with a minor and appeared very sporadically on NXT television since then. His final appearance was in December and it was a loss on television to Adam Cole.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, Dream had not been at many of the tapings and had not wrestled since 2020. He was coming to open ring sessions at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and there was a “growing concern” that he would be coaching classes in the future.

Velveteen Dream hadn't been at many NXT tapings of late and hadn't wrestled in 2020. He had been coming to open ring, and there was growing concern in the company he was being set up to help coach classes. He is now released from the company.
