Fightful Select has revealed that WWE is showing strong interest in signing seasoned NJPW wrestler, Jeff Cobb, who happens to be currently available as a free agent.
Having been a mainstay in NJPW, Cobb is part of The United Empire, but with a recent loss under his belt, he has hinted at exploring alternate career opportunities, thereby casting doubts over his continuity with NJPW.
Rumors that Cobb is featured on WWE’s internal roster are circulating, however, no official confirmation on the matter has been obtained yet. With respect to AEW, sources affiliated to it have suggested that it is unlikely that Cobb will join AEW, notwithstanding his past appearances.
At the age of 42, Cobb has an impressive track record with several NJPW titles to his name, which include the IWGP Tag Team Titles, the NEVER Openweight Title, and the NJPW World Television Championship. His stellar list of accolades also includes participation in the Olympic Games in 2004.
