WWE’s tribute to Jon Huber, aka Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, included an on-air graphic prior to RAW starting, and several talents paid tribute to him during the broadcast. Brian Myers, formerly Curt Hawkins, criticized the company for not doing enough on the show, posting the following to Twitter late Monday night:
No 10 bell salute?
No video package?
This man was beloved by his peers & we’re all grieving hard.
This isn’t right. https://t.co/PhZIckKcbm— Brian Myers (@Myers_Wrestling) December 29, 2020
After Myers’ comments drew plenty of attention from fans and those within the wrestling business, PWInsider.com reported several WWE talents and sources have reached out to them to confirm that WWE did in fact film tributes to Huber before RAW went on the air last night. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also confirmed some content related to a tribute to Huber was filmed, but neither source could confirm how or when it would be used moving forward.
Despite that, PWInsider noted that there are “obviously” plans for some kind of tribute beyond the graphic that was shown on RAW last night.
Huber passed away this weekend at the age of 41 due to a non-COVID-related lung issue. All Elite Wrestling has since confirmed they will push back their original plans for this week’s episode of Dynamite, and will instead host a tribute show to honor Huber.
