Eric Bischoff, the former WWE CEO and wrestling mogul, claims Vince McMahon was recently in dialogue with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion.
In a most recent conversation with CanadaCasino.ca, Bischoff pointed out that McMahon rang bells with the fighting outfit. He commented,
“On paper, there is a possibility that Vince might invest as an investor in another wrestling organization. What I certainly know is that Vince is exploring opportunities in combat sports. I know this because he was communicating with someone I was communicating with, and I had the opportunity to hear parts of conversations they had. And I have this substantiated and confirmed by a third party, and that nudges me to believe that this is a fact, which suggests there’s a possibility.”
He added, “Vince is 78 and despite some health issues, he probably feels like 35. Being 78 doesn’t slow him down. Vince will keep working until his last breath. He’s passionate, he loves challenges, and he loves to fight. He was talking with the Bareknuckle Fighting Championship, it’s a captivating business. David Feldman, the one who runs it, is doing exceptionally well. But my understanding is that their talks didn’t take off. So, I know from this that Vince was considering an engagement.”
Riding a mixed wave of emotions is Cody Rhodes, who is set to headline WrestleMania 41 for the third consecutive time but also faces a challenge in the known visage of his idol, John Cena. A potential loss could mean the end of Cena’s WrestleMania career.
Sharing his sentiments on the “Mostly Sports” podcast, Cody seemed excited about the match in Las Vegas. Still, he did admit that it’s emotionally challenging as he aims to emulate Cena’s legendary “Super Cena” run and do everything possible to win, remain on top and continue being the vital figure of WWE. He stated,
“This particular match carries both joy and sorrow. I’m aware of the rigors of the week, the challenges of the Road to WrestleMania and the last-minute tasks. I’m looking forward to my family being there, and the wrestling fans experiencing Vegas, but it’s tough because I have to do what John accomplished during his ‘Super Cena’ run, which is to win.”
Undeterred, he added, “Despite John Cena getting a lot of detractors recently, there’s this thrill about him potentially breaking Ric Flair’s record and getting seventeen [WWE Titles]. And I’m the one standing in his way. That’s the bittersweet part of it all. But, I’m committed. I am savoring my luck, having had incredible opportunities throughout my career, all thanks to the people around me.”
