WWE NXT is set for a “complete revamp”, and a new report indicates that the changes will include the creative team behind the show.
During Tuesday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that Vince McMahon himself, alongside Bruce Prichard, will produce NXT once it returns to live shows.
“It’s gonna be like the old NXT,” said Alvarez. “I have heard from several people now that when they go back to live shows, this is going to be a McMahon-Prichard production.”
Likewise, in the same article from the Wrestling Obsever, Dave Meltzer reported that the duo will will be responsible for “big decisions” related to the brand, and they will be responsible for everything from marketing and promotion to the show’s direction. The report notes that their role as it relates to booking might only affect the top stars of the brand.
For years, Triple H and his team have run NXT, and WWE President Nick Khan previously stated that he would still lead the way in this new era. It’s unclear what the dynamic between McMahon, Prichard and Triple H, regarding NXT, will be moving forwaard.
NXT recently introduced a drastically new logo, leading many to believe that this “revamp” will produce a very different version of the show.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
Update: Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast and the Wrestling Observer tweeted about the situation.
“…[I asked a few people about Vince and Bruce producing NXT,” wrote Zarian. “Here is the quote [from a source;] ‘Vince has been hands-on and will continue moving forward’.”
