On Tuesday, the global wrestling giant, World Wrestling Entertainment, unveiled its new initiative – the WWE ID program.
The corporation is set to collaborate with Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Academy, Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling, Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Academy, amongst various independent promotions, in an ambitious effort to attract and sign independent wrestling talent.
Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling has reported that a number of indie wrestlers have already inked contracts under the WWE ID program. As of now, the identity of these wrestlers remains undisclosed. However, they have the liberty to continue participating in independent shows as there are currently no stipulations restricting where these contracted independent wrestlers can perform, or if they are allowed to lose matches.
There is, however, a noteworthy point that no financial assistance is currently being extended to these wrestling academies under this program.
