Rey Fenix, the acclaimed professional wrestler, has now officially attained free agent status, a fact corroborated by Fightful Select. There were talks of extending his contract due to his injury time, however, he is now open to being signed by any wrestling promotion. Speculations are rife that he is on the verge of signing with WWE, as merchandise and creative teams are reportedly already preparing for his induction.
This announcement comes after a period of contractual ambiguity when both Fenix and his sibling, PENTA, were on the verge of parting ways with AEW last year. This situation changed when AEW, upon being informed of their talks with WWE, extended their contracts. Fenix also lodged allegations of “inhumane treatment” against AEW, a claim the company has refuted privately. It’s conjectured that an understanding of not disparaging one another may have been included in his release conditions.
In recent times, Fenix was conspicuously not included in AEW’s substantial creative strategies, despite initial plans for Fenix, PENTA, and Pac to clasp a Trios Title victory before contract issues arose. Insider sources of WWE perceived Fenix’s transition to the company as a strong probability, with predictions of him joining PENTA on the primary roster.
