Report: NXT Match Taped For 8/19 Stopped Abruptly Due To Injury Scare

There was a scary moment during the tapings for the August 19th, 2020 episode of WWE NXT involving Johnny Gargano.
According to a report from John Pollock of POST Wrestling, the match between Johnny Gargano and Ridge Holland had to be abruptly stopped due to a “scary” spot where Gargano landed on his head. Triple H and Shawn Michaels entered the ring to check on Gargano to make sure he was okay. Fortunately, Gargano was said to be okay and they re-started and completed the match, with the report noting that everything should look fine with the benefit of editing when the match airs next Wednesday.

Johnny, the consummate professional, would go on to apologize to everybody for having to stop the tapings. Gargano was checked on by officials after he took the spot and they were reportedly going to do another check-up after the match.
This match was to determine another entrant for the NXT North American championship Ladder Match which will take place at NXT TakeOver XXX on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
