AEW has been facing a significant issue due to an overabundance of contracted wrestlers and limited airtime to adequately feature them all on its weekly TV shows. This dilemma is reflected in the management decisions of Tony Khan.
It has come to light that Leyla Hirsch’s exclusive contract with AEW has now expired, putting her in the position of a free agent.
Insights delivered on the most recent take of Wrestling Observer Live by Bryan Alvarez suggest that multiple wrestlers may be seen parting ways with AEW in the upcoming month of March.
As stated by Alvarez, “The fact is clear – you’ll be hearing similar stories like this more often in March. I’ve got wind of probable resignations in the near future, whether it’s through termination of contracts or non-renewal of deals. The crux of the matter is the excessive number of contracted wrestlers… Leyla Hirsch won’t be the only one bidding adieu in the following 30 days.”
In the previous month, AEW saw the exit of personalities like Malakai Black, Miro, and Ricky Saints (Ricky Starks), with all of them having made their way back into WWE, or heading towards a return.
Post their leave from AEW, Saints made his appearance in NXT, alongside news breaking out about WWE’s creative team strategizing the comeback for Black and Miro.
