According to sources from Reuters, Linda McMahon, former WWE executive, is currently regarded as the leading candidate to take charge of the Department of Commerce in the upcoming administration of incoming President Donald Trump, who is a convicted felon.
During Trump’s initial presidential term, Linda McMahon played a crucial role as the director of the Small Business Administration in the cabinet.
McMahon, known for her substantial donations to Trump over the years, also functioned as the Chair of the America First Policy Institute. This institute was established in 2021, as a kind of strategic contemplative body, aiming to advance Trump’s public policy initiatives.
In his latest election race, Linda McMahon was brought onboard by Trump to jointly lead his transition team. It is important to highlight, however, that she has not yet been formally chosen for the role at the Department of Commerce.
In 2019, McMahon stepped down from her SBA director role in Trump’s cabinet, later spearheading a group that backed Trump financially.
Although Linda McMahon and her husband of five decades Vince McMahon are still legally bound in matrimony, they have separated some years ago. This year, Vince stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman of the WWE parent company’s Board, TKO Group Holdings.
Presently, Vince is being accused of sexual assault and human trafficking by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant.
