More details have begun to emerge concerning WWE’s purported intentions for John Cena in 2025, as this wrestling legend gears up to bid final adieu to the world of professional wrestling.
Next year will see Cena retire from participating in the ring. This news was divulged during this year’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event that took place in Toronto, Canada.
PW Insider has intimated that WWE is giving serious thought to arranging a match between Cena and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.
Were Cena to emerge victorious, it would mark his 17th time as World Champion. This would mean surpassing the recognized record held by Ric Flair of 16 title reigns.
The report further indicated that the proposed plans depend greatly on The Rock and whether he is intending to duel with Rhodes at the same aforementioned event, WrestleMania 41.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, though Logan Paul had expressed interest in a match with Cena, these plans have been scrapped.
The Observer aligns with the information that WWE is toying with the idea of a World Championship match for Cena at WrestleMania 41, set to unfold in April of 2025.
