Last week, on a WWE SmackDown episode, Kevin Owens made public the unfortunate news that he will not be able to participate in WrestleMania 41 due to a serious neck injury.
As per information gathered by The Wrestler Observer Newsletter, it is understood that Owens had surgery on this previous Monday to confront and manage the problem.
The average recovery timeframe after going through surgeries for neck injuries tends to be around 12 to 15 months, though certain operations can lead to a faster recovery period.
As an example, Tomasso Ciampa underwent neck surgery years ago and was able to recover at a faster pace.
Owens has expressed his belief that he might be able to make a comeback between six to eight months or maybe even a year.
It appears that Owens initially desired to keep his injury a secret until he could formally announce it. However, there was a widespread understanding that he had sustained an injury and his scheduled match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 was highly unlikely.
