Kenny Omega is down, but not out.

According to a new report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega is dealing with several injuries, including a laceration on his hand that required stitches. F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer explained that Omega cut up his hand after hitting PAC with the AEW Championship in the three-way match at Double Or Nothing, and it was bad enough he needed seven stitches to close it up. In addition to the hand injury and normal wear and tear on his knees, it was noted that Omega is also working with a deep bone bruise near his tailbone and an athletic hernia, and had a stomach virus this past week.

On a related note, Omega’s AEW title defense against Jungle Boy, originally set for June 11, was moved to June 26 but it doesn’t appear to be related to the champion’s injuries. Meltzer noted that it’s a combination of wanting the title match to air live and getting more time to build June 26 as a major show, but it was “just as well” because Omega is hurting pretty badly right now.

Omega has quite the schedule ahead of him this summer, as he has three major title defenses scheduled, with a potential fourth match on the horizon. In addition to the Jungle Boy match, Omega will defend the IMPACT World Championship against Moose at Against All Odds on Saturday, and would face Sami Callihan at Slammiversary if he beats Moose this weekend. Omega will also defend the AAA Mega Championship against Andrade at TripleMania XXIX on August 14.
