Former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell earned a ton of respect backstage for finishing a recent title match despite an injury.
On NXT’s recent Spring Breakin’ episode, Hartwell retained her title against Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez.
During the match, Hartwell suffered an ankle sprain and was taken backstage, but was allowed to return to the match after being examined.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Hartwell suffered a high ankle sprain and earned “a lot of respect from people in coming back out while she could barely walk.”
While Hartwell was backstage, an audible was called for Stratton to win the title, but the Superstars went back to the original plan when Hartwell returned to the match.
During this week’s NXT, Hartwell (who has been drafted to RAW) vacated the NXT Women’s Championship and spoke about her career in NXT and her reign as champion.
A new champion will be crowned at the upcoming NXT Battleground event later this month.
