The infamous wrestler, Danhausen, has been missing from the AEW screen for an extended period, prompting a recent disclosure about his status with the organization.

The Outstandingly Charming and Sinister One last stepped into the AEW ring at the Worlds End event towards the end of December 2023. The latest report from Fightful Select reveals that he is not entwined with AEW’s creative direction, with no serious discussions about his comeback occurring recently.

As per insider information, the communication frequency between AEW and Danhausen has been sparse for around half a year. They only tend to connect regarding approvals for freelance dates, which is a conventional practice for talents contracted with AEW.

Previously, there had been discussions about reintroducing Danhausen post his injury. However, a shift in strategy led to his expression of disappointment directly to AEW’s President, Tony Khan, about the circumstances.

In the earlier part of this year, there were suggestions to bring Danhausen back into the fold, strongly backed by Bryan Danielson. Despite these efforts, the moves didn’t pan out, even though Danhausen exhibited a willingness to return.

It is the belief of AEW management that Danhausen would rather concentrate on his gigs outside the organization instead of participating in the Collision events on Saturdays. Furthermore, Danhausen stated that family obligations were affecting his availability, a situation that underwent changes throughout the year.

The professional contract between Danhausen and AEW is set to come to an end in the summer of 2025, and presently, there are no creative initiatives prepared for him.
