– ADVERTISMENT –

As we reported on Saturday night here on eWn, CM Punk took several shots at “Hangman” Adam Page following this week’s episode of AEW Collision.

According to a report from Fightful Select, CM Punk’s shots at Hangman Page were not part of any planned work.

During a post-show promo segment, Punk spoke to the fans in Greensboro, NC, noting that he was well aware that he was in “Hangman country” and that he now knows now why. Punk said he went to a supermarket earlier in the day and saw that “the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because nobody wants to buy them.”

Multiple sources in the company say the post-show promo was not designed to build any sort of storyline and weren’t a work. There were no plans for the promo to be filmed and it was said to have been an “off the cuff” segment.

According to a report from Pwinsider, CM Punk’s comments were made in response to several fans who were heckling him after the show. Additionally, Punk noted that he was “rocked” in the main event match and didn’t really know where he was going with his promo.

As of this writing, there are no plans for a CM Punk vs. Hangman Page storyline. So it’s just another case of CM Punk being the “loose cannon” he’s known to be.
