The WWE is reportedly considering a return of a star currently in AEW, although such plans might still be on hold.

According to sources, WWE is showing significant interest in rehiring Malakai Black (formely known as Aleister Black), who signed with AEW following his WWE exit.

During his time in AEW, Black teamed up with Brody King to form the tag team, Kings of the Black Throne, and later recruited Buddy Matthews to create the House of Black. This faction has frequently competed in the trios division, and their actions have propelled former TBS Champion Julia Hart into the spotlight.

In the news we’ve been following at eWn, Black’s AEW contract is approaching its expiration date.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides an enlightening update on Black’s career trajectory. The WWE appears keen to rehire the former NXT Champion.

The Newsletter discloses, “His current agreement ends early in 2025, and though they may be able to add some extra time, as they did with Fenix, due to his absence from the ring, the extension would not be substantial.”

Zelina Vega, Black’s spouse, is an active WWE employee and has numerous contacts in the organization, including CM Punk. Black was one of the talents Triple H sought to re-sign during his tenure as head of WWE Creative.
