Reports this week indicate that the anticipated AEW Grand Slam: Australia may be relocated due to failing short of its ticket sales expectations.
AEW Grand Slam was initially set to make its debut in Australia on February 15, 2025 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, a venue big enough to accommodate over 50,000 fans. This wrestling event would mark an inaugural moment for the stadium.
Industry insiders from Fightful Select reveal that AEW may reconsider its choice of venue, favoring a smaller location instead. This potential change is reportedly a result of disappointing ticket sales, with an official announcement of the move likely to come sooner than later.
A previous report emerged in September, detailing that the event wasn’t achieving the level of performance AEW had projected. It was clearly stated that the situation was “not good.”
It’s worth noting that AEW’s major events have included the annual All In shows staged at London’s famed Wembley Stadium, which have each attracted over 60,000 attendees.
