As we reported earlier today here on eWn, FTR’s Cash Wheeler was arrested on Friday morning on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm after a July 27th incident where he flashed a gun at another person during a “road rage” incident.
According to a report from Fightful Select, members of both AEW management and the roster had no knowledge of the situation and were surprised to hear about it when the news surfaced online.
As of this writing, there is no word on whether Tony Khan, CM Punk, or Dax Harwood were aware of the situation. If they were, they were keeping it under wraps. One person close to the situation was under the impression that Khan didn’t know in advance and was caught off guard by it. However, that is yet to be confirmed.
AEW issued the following statement on the matter:
“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
