Killswitch, previously known as Luchasaurus, is currently grappling with serious health concerns due to a bout of pneumonia impacting both his lungs. The timeline of his expected return to the wrestling ring remains uncertain.
Originally, hopes were high for his recovery. However, recent information provided by Fightful Select indicates that unforeseen obstacles have hindered his AEW comeback.
As per the report, Killswitch continues to require additional oxygen and is not yet in the stage to resume physical exercise regimes.
According to medical authorities, the wrestler is expected to make a comeback to the wrestling world eventually. Nevertheless, at the moment, the primary emphasis is on replenishing his stamina and equilibrium.
The report quoted, “He’s going to be on oxygen for a number of weeks,” indicating that Killswitch’s route to recovery is going to be both carefully overseen and slow-moving.
The health ordeal for the AEW star started in the later part of September when his health took a downturn following his sudden collapse at home. His oxygen levels in the blood dipped worryingly below 80%, sounding alarm bells over his overall health condition.
Although early reports projected him returning to exercise regimes soon, later updates disclosed complications such as a calcified heart valve and issues with iron production, escalating the risk of a potential relapse.
Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Live further relayed that Killswitch is embattled with long-term challenges that present a grave threat to his wrestling tenure.
As Alvarez put it, “It’s not certain this is a career-ending issue, but it could be.”
Currently, Killswitch’s journey towards recovery persists, with regular health assessments being conducted to comprehend the level of damage and assess his capability to return to physical exercises.
As of now, his future in wrestling is steeped in unpredictability. However, it is postulated that with appropriate management and ample time, Killswitch will be able to get back to action.
