In the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, information was shared about the condition of CM Punk, who is struggling with a triceps injury. Speculation is rife about a possible face-off between Punk and Drew McIntyre in the WWE SummerSlam 2024 event, scheduled to take place in a few weeks.
According to sports journalist Dave Meltzer, there is a high chance that CM Punk will make a comeback during SummerSlam. Nonetheless, it is not yet a certainty as Punk hasn’t officially been declared fit for the wrestling ring. His medical clearance for return to ring action is still under review, with less than three weeks to go for the event.
WWE’s SummerSlam 2024 will be taking place on Saturday, August 3, at the Cleveland Browns Stadium, located in Cleveland, Ohio.
In one of the recent episodes of his podcast titled “Kliq This”, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash lauded the way WWE has handled CM Punk’s current storyline with Drew McIntyre. He conveyed,
“He hasn’t been forced upon us, he is just there, constant in his battle against Drew. The storyline has cleverly developed to the point where Drew is burdened… The creative team has done an excellent job making us believe that he’s out due to an injury and that we understand that he’s not allowed to attack because he’s not medically cleared…And then you have Punk who has stirred the pot, making waves, still incredibly popular even though he hasn’t physically confronted anyone.”
