Jacob Fatu’s future seemed unsure after his leg was injured during a table stunt in the WWE SummerSlam 2024 grand finale.
We’ve announced previously on eWn that Fatu was supposed to feign a leg injury after the table incident in the match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, yet it’s ambiguous whether this was the full extent of what viewers saw on TV.
Still reigning as co-champion of the WWE Tag Team, Fatu will not be seen on screen for some time.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that any duo from The Bloodline chosen by Solo Sikoa will take on the defense of the WWE Tag Team Championship for now.
WWE doesn’t wish for Fatu to interact with Reigns at this point because “everyone has to sell big for Reigns right now.”
While Fatu remains off the TV because of his injury, WWE is intentionally downplaying his absence because he is “supposed to be a monster.”
Additionally, it is likely that the injury is a part of the planned storyline, contrived before Roman’s comeback.
