New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) recently held its New Japan Road event at the Yamagata Big Wing venue in Yamagata, Japan. The event featured several exciting matches and saw the crowning of a new champion.

In the opening match, Satoshi Kojima, Togi Makabe, and Hiroyoshi Tenzan defeated Yuto Nakashima, Boltin Oleg, and Oskar Leube. The veteran trio showcased their experience and skill to secure the victory.

The second match saw Toru Yano and Master Wato team up to defeat Gedo and Taiji Ishimori. Yano and Wato displayed great chemistry as they outsmarted their opponents to claim the win.

Bishamon and YOH faced off against Callum Newman, HENARE, and Great-O-Khan in a thrilling tag team match. Bishamon and YOH’s teamwork proved to be superior as they emerged victorious.

The fourth match of the night featured Shota Umino, Tiger Mask, Minoru Suzuki, and Yuji Nagata taking on BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Yota Tsuji, and Shingo Takagi. This match was filled with high-flying action and hard-hitting moves, but it was Umino, Tiger Mask, Suzuki, and Nagata who came out on top.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi, and EVIL formed a formidable team against TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Yuya Uemura, and SANADA. The match was intense, with both teams showcasing their skills. In the end, Kanemaru, Togo, Takahashi, and EVIL secured the victory.

The highlight of the event was the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship match between Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, and Tomohiro Ishii (c) and Ren Narita, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Tomoaki Honma. Tanahashi, Okada, and Ishii successfully defended their titles against a determined challenger team.

The main event of the evening was the KOPW 2023 Provisional Title match between Taichi and SHO. Taichi managed to defeat SHO and capture the title. The match was intense, with both competitors giving it their all. Taichi’s victory marked a significant moment in his career.
