Kevin Nash previously stated that he won’t be attending AEW Revolution 2024 to witness Sting’s retirement match due to his “positioning with WWE.”
On a recent edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, Nash explained why he can’t attend AEW Revolution 2024, noting that he is not on WWE’s payroll.
Nash said, “No, I never said that. What I said was, I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me of the crowd and underneath it say ‘is All Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work….One of my closest fucking friends is Paul Levesque. As much as I love Steve, and I know he’ll only have one last match, I will watch it. We will talk about it, I just won’t…I haven’t been to a WrestleMania, a RAW, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven’t been to any events. I don’t want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people. I just don’t want to do it. I’m a hermit, and that’s it.”
Sting will team with Darby Allin to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks this Sunday at AEW Revolution 2024.
Kevin Nash, a legendary professional wrestler, recently revealed that he will not be attending AEW Revolution 2024 to witness Sting’s retirement match. Nash cited his “positioning with WWE” as the reason behind his absence.
During an episode of his podcast, “Kliq This,” Nash elaborated on his decision, explaining that he is not currently employed by WWE. He clarified, “No, I never said that. What I said was, I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me in the crowd and underneath it say ‘is All Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work.”
Nash emphasized his close friendship with Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, who holds a prominent position in WWE. Despite his admiration for Sting and understanding that this would be his final match, Nash expressed his reluctance to attend any wrestling events. He admitted, “I haven’t been to a WrestleMania, a RAW, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven’t been to any events. I don’t want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people. I just don’t want to do it. I’m a hermit, and that’s it.”
Sting, a wrestling icon in his own right, will team up with Darby Allin to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution 2024. This highly anticipated event is set to take place this Sunday.
Nash’s decision not to attend AEW Revolution 2024 highlights the loyalty and connection he feels towards WWE. Despite his respect for Sting and the significance of his retirement match, Nash’s personal preference for solitude and his association with WWE prevent him from being present at the event.
As wrestling fans eagerly anticipate AEW Revolution 2024 and Sting’s retirement match, they will have to respect Kevin Nash’s decision to prioritize his relationship with WWE and his desire for privacy.
