Instead, Punk wrestled Paul “Triple H” and moved on while Nash and The Game continued to feud.

Nash said, “It’s funny now that Vince has taken a backseat to this whole thing, that I see Paul, he owns it now. Like, he has ownership of that company as far as, when they say he’s creative. His demeanor, he is in completely control of that situation. There has never been anybody of his talent in the ring…he was with us and we were all ruthless and we were all very driven for our success. It’s such a different Paul now. When I was supposed to wrestle Punk, he got under Triple H’s skin so bad. Paul just came up to me and said, ‘I’m going to beat him. You’re not going to wrestle him. I’m beating him.’ Cool. That’s why me and Punk never wrestled. He made the call, ‘I gotta beat this f**ker.’”

In a recent episode of his podcast “Kliq This,” WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his memories of feuding with CM Punk in the summer of 2011. While the feud between the two wrestlers was intense, Nash revealed that he never had the opportunity to wrestle Punk.

During that time, Punk was involved in a match against Paul “Triple H” Levesque, also known as The Game. Nash explained that Triple H got under Punk’s skin so badly that Triple H made the decision to beat him in the match instead of Nash. This ultimately led to Nash and Punk never having a wrestling match.

Nash also commented on the current state of WWE and the role of Triple H. He noted that now that Vince McMahon has taken a backseat in the company, Triple H has ownership and creative control. Nash praised Triple H’s talent and drive for success during their time together in the ring, but mentioned that Triple H’s demeanor has changed significantly since then.

Nash’s recollection of the feud sheds light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics and decision-making processes in professional wrestling. It highlights how personal conflicts and power struggles can influence the direction of storylines and matches.

For fans of professional wrestling, this insight into the backstage politics and decision-making can add an extra layer of understanding and appreciation for the performances they see in the ring. It shows that there is more to wrestling than just the physicality and athleticism, and that the creative decisions made by those behind the scenes can greatly impact the narratives and outcomes of matches.
