Reason Why Naomi Hasn’t Joined NJPW

Bushiroad, the parent company of NJPW and STARDOM, has an interest in bringing in Trinity Fatu (formerly known in WWE as Naomi), but only for the right amount of money. 

Her good friend, Mercedes Mone, joined the company after getting her WWE release. They walked out of WWE together following a creative dispute with Vince McMahon. 

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that at a time when Mone is in talks for a contract extension with Bushiroad and the company is trying to cut down on cost, the decision was made not to bring in Fatu. 

“The hard part about a longer commitment is that Bushiroad’s wrestling division, even though Stardom has grown greatly, has overall taken a major financial hit because of New Japan’s declines related to the pandemic, even with New Japan World up. Because of that, the wrestling division is under pressure to keep spending down. An example is that they were told they could bring in Trinity Fatu, but it was felt it would cost too much for the return and thus far hadn’t made that deal,” Meltzer wrote.
