At the forthcoming AEW Dynasty 2025, this Sunday, Chris Jericho is set to defend his ROH World Championship title against Bandido.
The match was scheduled a few weeks after Jericho threw an open challenge to Bandido on an episode of AEW Dynamite.
In the course of the AEW Dynasty press conference call, Tony Khan, the CEO, held off from verifying the match initially, but he made the official announcement later the same day.
As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, delays arose from matters with Bandido’s management team.
Prior to Khan’s confirmation, there was lingering uncertainty about the scheduled match. Sources labelled the situation as “ridiculous,” highlighting that it took an inordinate amount of time to finalize a match that was previously announced.
